Effects
DC 52 is a source of B-complex vitamins, vitamin C and magnesium, and includes high amounts of vitamins B3 and B5. This formula helps improve energy production and adaptation to stress while helping to regulate blood sugar levels.
This formula is unique in its levels of vitamins B3, B5 and C, as well as the inclusion of magnesium.
Overall, B-complex vitamins play an important role in the metabolism of proteins, fats and sugars, as well as in energy production.
This formula has higher than normal doses of Vitamin B3 and B5 for several reasons.
Canadian psychiatrist Abram Hoffer wrote that vitamin B3 was a "remarkable antistress factor." In addition to increasing energy, it helps reduce anxiety and mild depression. Vitamin B3 also plays a role in improving glucose metabolism in type II diabetes (in conjunction with chromium), as well as in hypoglycemia.
Vitamin B5 is necessary for the production of hormones, including stress hormones. Studies also show that this vitamin reduces the harmful effects of stress on healthy individuals.
Vitamin C is known for being highly effective in promoting healthy stress glands.
Magnesium is the nutrient most deficient in the body during times of stress, and stress creates a need for more magnesium.
