Canada's food guide
According to a Senate report, Canada's Food Guide, "is in need of a drastic overhaul". In its 2016 report, a committee of experts mandated by the Canadian Senate points out the guide's shortcomings and the fact that it is obsolete. Moreover, the committee strongly recommends that food industry representatives be excluded from groups defining nutritional needs in order to avoid the manipulation of these groups by the food industry.
I have written about the urgent need to revise Canada's Food Guide in previous blog posts. I have been criticizing these same shortcomings for decades, suggesting the same recommendations as what the Senate committee now offers. To get an idea of my recommendations, read my articles, "Nutritional Theories. Are you Confused?" and ' "But I eat well, doctor." Do you?' on drcrisafi.com.
