      Getting In Shape

      After the holidays, whether or not one indulges in food excesses, most people start thinking about getting into shape.  We want to be ready for that time of the year when our clothing doesn't fit as loosely and our body shape is more conspicuous.  Wanting to slim down is certainly laudable, but it is important to do it for the right reasons and in the proper manner.  In the next few blog posts, I will go into more detail about this. 

      The goal of slimming down, as I mentioned in the previous post, is a commendable one.  Nevertheless, keep in mind that the ideal result is to lose fat and maintain, even increase, muscle and bone mass.  You should not be content with losing any old type of excess weight, you should focus on losing fat.  If you need advice on how to do this, the following blog posts will show you 3 different approaches that are indispensable to maintaining a healthy weight-loss program.
