Smoking Cessation
One of the great challenges of smoking cessation is nicotine withdrawal. The other two are the accrued stress and the increase in appetite (and weight) also associated with cessation. It is interesting to note here that vitamin B3, also known as nicotinic acid, helps adapt to stress whilst also improving fat and sugar metabolism.
A vitamin B complex with high levels of vitamin B3 could therefore significantly help with smoking cessation. Certain herbs can also help support the body during withdrawal Formulas with Siberian ginseng, for example, can improve adaptation to the stress associated with smoking cessation. The herb lobelia can help to “replace” nicotine, thereby reducing withdrawal symptoms without causing a new addiction in turn.
