Description
Cardiomyopathy or myocardiopathy (literally "heart muscle disease") covers a variety of diseases which cause the myocardium, or heart muscle, to malfunction.
Cardiomyopathy generally refers to diseases affecting the heart muscle.
From a naturopathic perspective, cardiomyopathy can be congenital or acquired. In most cases, the heart muscle is affected by an overly acidic diet, free radicals or, often, a magnesium deficiency.Though mush has been written about the dangers of calcium deficiency, it should be noted that excessive dietary calcium or high levels of calcium as a supplement, are associated with an increased risk of strokes.
